Donation of blood fractions
by why144000 inthis may be the wrong area for this but here goes.. if you went to a bank and told them " i don't have an account with you, i never will have an account with you and i will tell people you are a terrible bank" then ask not for a loan from them, but a gift of a lot of money, how do you think they would respond?.
yet, witnesses now have the the ability to take blood fractions from the blood bank without ever contributing to the blood bank.
there is a process that the blood bank takes just the plasma from a donor to be used for fractions only.

As a parent, did you ever have a swimming pool and invite neighbor kids?
by 4thgen inbeing 4th generation, i realize that am socially stunted, in regard to those that are not jws.
i am forging ahead and endeavoring to build a life outside of jw's.
i am trying as i can to socialize my child to make friends and be a normal kid.

My kids could only go in the pool with their friends if I was outside too but usually parents were invited as well and we did a barbeque. It was up to the parents to watch their own kids not me.
Sunburn was the biggest problem with one little red-head who would not wear her t-shirt.

THE NWT
(Daniel 9:24-27) 24 “There are seventy weeks that have been determined upon your people and upon your holy city, in order to terminate the transgression, and to finish off sin, and to make atonement for error, and to bring in righteousness for times indefinite, and to imprint a seal upon vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. 25 And you should know and have the insight [that] from the going forth of [the] word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until Mes·si′ah [the] Leader, there will be seven weeks, also sixty-two weeks. She will return and be actually rebuilt, with a public square and moat, but in the straits of the times. 26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Mes·si′ah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. “And the city and the holy place the people of a leader that is coming will bring to their ruin. And the end of it will be by the flood. And until [the] end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations. 27 “And he must keep [the] covenant in force for the many for one week; and at the half of the week he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. “And upon the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, the very thing decided upon will go pouring out also upon the one lying desolate.”
The new NWT
(Daniel 9:24-27) 24 “There are 70 weeks that have been determined for your people and your holy city, in order to terminate the transgression, to finish off sin, to make atonement for error, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and the prophecy, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. 25 You should know and understand that from the issuing of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until Mes·si′ah the Leader, there will be 7 weeks, also 62 weeks. She will be restored and rebuilt, with a public square and moat, but in times of distress. 26 “And after the 62 weeks, Mes·si′ah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. “And the people of a leader who is coming will destroy the city and the holy place. And its end will be by the flood. And until the end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations. 27 “And he will keep the covenant in force for the many for one week; and at the half of the week, he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. “And on the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, what was decided on will be poured out also on the one lying desolate.”

Would Your Family Stone You to Death?
by cofty inot law required jews to take the lead in stoning a family member who became apostate.. the watchtower has lamented the fact that the law of the land now forbids them from doing so.. if the law permitted it, as it does in some musim countries, and if the watchtower required it, would your family obey?.
my parents are good people and i believe their love for me is genuine, but i think they would follow orders.. what about yours?.

I have met carp diem a couple of times but never knew it till I saw Punkofnice's post.
I went to see Derren Brown with her last month and we had a wonderful time.
And of course I have also met Punkofnice and Mr. and Mrs Cedars too. It is actually quite a long list now and I love that phrase that "only another exjw knows and understands the insanity that we all share".
I sometimes forget who posts on which sites now. I have met some past posters too who have moved on which is wonderful but we still stay in contact and try to see each other once a year.
I have stronger feelings for my exjw family than any other people on this planet.

I never knew about the YMCA thing till after I left but then there wasn't one near us for it to be an issue that was ever discussed.
I was accused of being a troll once because although I was having "doubts" I still believed it all so was still quick to defend the religion apart from the little niggles I had.
Whether they are a troll or not there are always "lurkers" on this site who are jut reading and whenever I have recommended JWN to newly exiting JWs I always feel the need to warn them that it can sometimes get brutal on here. I wish I didn't have to as it is still the best exjw forum on the net but as a sensitive and woosy southern Brit I feel it can get quite harsh here at times.
I hope they come back.

Whats with TROLLS posting on this forum ,dont they just expose themselves as less than intelligent?
by smiddy ini mean to say it only takes a couple of posts to identify a troll , what do they hope to acheive ?
they only convince me, how stupid they are, with not a thinking cell in their brain .. do they think its another avenue to get fs hours in ?
do they think their going to convince one of us to go back to the kh.?

I wonder how many are testing us to see if what they have been told about those who have left is true and to see if we do have coherent and valid reasons for rejecting their doctrines and beliefs.
To defend a belief to others who do not hold that belief will open up any flaws not previously noticed and could help that person develop critical thinking skills.
It is hard to believe any true JW would deliberately come here for a fight or try to convert us back. I hope they are doubting but don't know where to go or how to break free so need to either reaffirm their beliefs by trying to convince another person they are right or find out tatt.
As it is rare to find any-one home on d2d work the only other place to talk "religiion" is sites like this.
Whatever their reason I hope they find the answers they need.

I have met all on BigMacs list except Hotspur and plenty more but they don't post here.
Most are on Facebook so we can chat directly to each other rather than post on topics. There are some from across the pond I would love to meet and a few in Australia and South Africa too. Maybe one day...
